Craft-fullness Retreat

Join local artist Daisy McClellan on Kiawah Island, SC, November 7th to 11th for a magical weekend of crafting and community. Disconnect from your daily routine and immerse yourself in the art of slow crafting, creating beautiful handmade projects in a serene and inspiring setting.

mindful crafting

for complete beginners to seasoned artists

There is something truly magical about making with your hands. I believe it is a form of medicine and a necessary form of self care — it helps calm our minds, build self-confidence and increase gratitude. In our busy lives, we often lack the time to play, explore, and to simply slow down. This retreat has been designed specifically just for that reason. We will come together, connect, explore, and learn something new.

Various meditative craft workshops will be taught by myself and other artists throughout the weekend. We have carefully curated experiences that are designed to tap into your creativity and help you connect with your inner self. In addition to further deepen your experience, we have scheduled time for yoga on the beach, optional reiki sessions, a healing south bath and more. Healthy meals will be provided all weekend to keep us happy and full while creating.

You’ll also have unstructured free time to explore the island, craft on your own, and just relax. In addition we will travel into Charleston to enjoy a guided art walk tour, a traditional low country meal and more!

located in paradise

Charleston + Kiawah Island

Our retreat will be held in a gorgeous art filled home located right on the beach on Kiawah Island. This four bedroom sanctuary, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, is nestled between a luscious pond on one side and the ocean on the other. It is filled with artwork from all seven continents and is a dream location for the retreat. The home features a gourmet kitchen, sweeping patio, and various large spaces for us to spread-out and create. Kiawah is a barrier island on the shores of the Atlantic just 21 miles south of Charleston, SC. This island is a nature lovers paradise where alligator, dolphin, and majestic bird sightings occur daily. The 10 mile stretch of pristine beach ranks amongst the best in the world while the rest of the island is brimming with lush foliage perfect for exploring by foot or bike. We will also take a field trip into Charleston which has been ranked the #1 city in the world to visit by Travel + Leisure for the past 10 years. This charming city is filled with cobblestone streets, art galleries, world class restaurants, and beautifully preserved architecture. I can’t wait to share my home town with you.
